Q: Do you sell materials only?
A: No we do not. We are a fence contractor only. If you had your fence installed by us and need a simple part such as a cap or picket, please call our office so we can see if we might be able to assist you.
Q: What areas do you service?
A: We serve all of Montgomery County and most areas in the following counties: Chester, Berks, Bucks, Northampton, Lehigh, and Delaware County. Please feel free to check with our office to see if we service your specific area.
Q: Do you have a display where I can see the different types of fence you install?
A: Yes, we have a display at our sales office located at 12 E. Arcadia Drive Limerick, PA which you can see any time.
Our warehouse in Bechtelsville is not open to the public.
Q: Does Montco Fence provide free estimates?
A: Absolutely. We are happy to provide a free estimate for any new fence installation or fence repair. Insurance repair estimates require an estimate fee, which is applied to work performed if we are awarded the contract. Please use this website or call to request an appointment for your free estimate. Estimates are provided Monday through Friday.
Q: How long will it take to receive my estimate?
A: Estimates are usually provided at the time of your appointment. However, we sometimes need some extra time to prepare the estimate and will email it to you in the days following your estimate date.
Q: Will my estimate have an expiration date?
A: Montco Fence guarantees their prices for 30 days. Once an estimate is older than 30 days, we may need to re-quote it.
Q: What if I want to make a change to my fence design or style after I have received my estimate?
A: No problem. Changes are best made during the estimating phase and usually does not require another visit by our estimator. Our office staff can easily assist you with your changes. However, please be aware that after you have submitted your down-payment and accepted the proposed work, any further changes could cause a delay in your installation and/or incur additional fees.
Q: What are common practices of neighbors splitting costs for a shared fence line?
A: It is always best to discuss your plans with your neighbors for a fence on a shared property line prior to installation. When we are installing a fence for a customer, we typically work from a single contract and our customer collects from their neighbor(s). If preferred, we can establish separate contracts with participating neighbors and begin work once down payments are collected from each participant.
Q: What types of payment do you accept?
A: We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, ACH, Cash & Checks.
Q: Do you offer any discounts?
A: Yes. Montco Fence is proud to say we offer discounts for Active Military, Veteran and First Responder, as well as package discounts for the purchase of a fence and a shed.
Q: How do I get started with a fence project?

Q: What if I have an old fence that needs to be removed?
A: Montco Fence does provide Take Down and/or Away of old fence for an additional fee when you are having a new fence installed by us.
Q: How long do I have to wait to be put on your schedule?
A: After you provide your down-payment, you can be placed on our schedule. Your date will depend on a few things such as arrival of materials and our schedule availability. We are busiest in the spring, summer and fall.
Q: Do you build fences all year round?
A: Yes, weather permitting.
Q: How many days will it take to install my fence?
A: The time it takes to install your fence will depend on the linear footage, digging conditions, weather and type of fence. Please ask our office staff about your specific job.
Q: Do I need a permit?
A: You will need to check with your local borough or township if a permit is required for the scope of work you are having completed by us. They will have the most up to date guidelines so it is your responsibility to check and obtain any permits. If you fail to obtain a permit when one was required, this could delay or disrupt your job and incur extra fees. Also, please be aware when Montco Fence makes the PA One Call (dig notification), this service also notifies your local borough and/or township that you are having work done at your home.
Q: Are there restrictions on fence height?
A: Most cities/boroughs/townships and Homeowners’ Associations have different guidelines on fence heights. You should check with them for any restrictions.
Q: How do I locate my property lines?
A: If you do not know your property lines, it is highly recommended that you look into it. We can recommend a land surveyor if you wish. Montco Fence installs your fence where you (the customer) requests us to place it. We will not be responsible for incorrect placement or boundary disputes of fencing on property lines.
Q: What do I need to do to prepare for a fence installation with Montco Fence?
A: This depends on the status of your project. Some preparations may include: clearing the fence line area, discussing plans with neighbors, locating property lines, getting permits or HOA approval, establishing rough grade, locating any of your sprinkler lines, etc.
Q: Do the installers need access to water or electric?
A: Yes they may need access to both of these items for operation of power tools or water for concrete where needed.
Q: What could delay my installation?
A: Inclement weather on the day of your job or days(s) before your scheduled job; not getting your permit in time, material arrival, making changes to the scope of work, or any unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.
Q: When is payment due for a fence installation?
A: The balance is due the day your fence build is complete, unless prior payment arrangements have been approved by our office. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, ACH, Checks or cash payment.

We do not charge extra if we encounter difficult digging, we never subcontract, and we are invested in your success AFTER the installation with our Workmanship Warranty.
Q: Do you have a warranty?
A: Montco Fence’s Labor Warranty is covered for 5 years after installation. This covers when something in your fence line isn’t lining up correctly, begins to look crooked, if a section of fencing becomes “undone”, if any gates aren’t shutting properly or if the fence begins to lean. We want to stand behind the work that we do and show our customers just that! The procedure for requesting a warranty repair is you simply go to our website and submit your information and pictures. Or you can email us your information and pictures. Our office will put you on our “free repair list”. We don’t give an exact date for when the repair will be completed, but we do our best to take care of it in a timely manner. Depending on the time of year (our schedule gets extremely booked during the spring and summer months) we usually say the repair will happen within 1 – 4 weeks. We either come out when we’re in the area with some extra time, or we’ll call a crew in to do repairs on a Saturday. After disturbing the ground while digging our post holes, things can settle differently, causing things to come out of alignment. Also with winter months and changing of the seasons (when the ground is saturated, dries out, becomes saturated again, etc…) the ground shifts around over time, so misalignments do sometimes happen. Now, say we have a major hurricane or tornado, or if a tree falls on the fence, that sort of repair is covered under your home owner’s insurance – not Montco Fence. We do not have control over these types of weather events, so we cannot be responsible to fix the damage these extreme storms cause.
Q: Do you hire any subcontractors?
A: No, our entire team works in-house for Montco Fence. We have assembled an experienced and skilled team able to handle any fencing project.
Q: Is Montco Fence licensed and insured?
A: Yes. Montco Fence is a PA Licensed contractor. Our company and workers are fully insured. We are happy to provide proof of insurance upon request.
