Farm Fences
Montco Fence offers different types of farm fencing and deer fencing. When installing any sort of farm fence, there’s a few things to consider. If you’re fencing in animals on a farm, then you’ll want to think about the breed of animal (horses, goats, sheep, cattle, chickens, etc….) that you’ll be fencing in, the animal’s size, strength and their ability or desire to escape the fencing, which animals can be fenced together or close to each other as well as how much space they’ll need. Usually, the total amount of fencing needed for farms is much greater than just fencing in a residential backyard, so the style of fence is typically a lesser expensive style, like Post & Rail (with or without wire mesh), Post & Strap or possibly just Post & Wire (with the option of adding a top and/or bottom rail for extra support). There are many sizes and strengths of wire fencing that is even specific to each animal.
Deer Fences
Deer can be known to be a nuisance in many regions of Pennsylvania because of known diseases they can carry and the agricultural damage they can do to landscapes and plantings. Deer Fencing is typically 8’ or 12’ high and all components are black, so the fencing blends into the natural landscape to be almost invisible. It is designed to be barely noticeable and designed with openings within the netting that will not harm the deer if they try to get through the fencing. The standard netting used for deer fence is 1” x 1” square openings, and the netting is installed on black chain link poles. Gates are framed out with chain link poles to your desired width and then wire is attached just like the fencing.
Guardrails
Guardrail is usually used for a protective safety barrier for pedestrians, vehicles and/or wildlife. We install wooden guardrail as well as metal guardrail depending on what it’s needed for and it’s location – trails and parks usually require wooden guardrail, while roadways, highways and bridges usually require metal guardrail. Guardrail components will sometimes need to fit a municipality or state code.
